Maximum capacity:We have 5 venue spaces. Ballroom- 230 seated, 350 standing. City Lites- 150 seated, 250 standing. Cabaret- 80 seated, 230 standing. Carrollton Inn Courtyard- 160 seated, 230 standing. Fava Courtyard- 230 seated & standing.
Inside/Outside Ceremony Space: We have two beautiful courtyards full of gardens and nature right in the heart of the city! Our Carrollton Inn Courtyard is surrounded by the Inn and is a bit smaller than the other. The Fava courtyard is by far the favorite choice of our couples because of the long brick floorplan surrounded by English gardens. The background of all their wedding pictures is either the Carroll Museum or the historic Fava Building. We offer a completely outdoor wedding package which has been popular for couples planning their ’21/’22 weddings during this uncertain time. On indoor venue spaces are called Cabaret, City Lites, and the Ballroom. These three floors are housed in the historic Fava Building, the façade of which was saved during the Baltimore Fire! The iconic red building has a very glamorous and unique inside. As this building used to be a museum about Baltimore, one of the floors still has a few exhibits left over like a replica White Tower Diner and a Cab Calloway DJ Booth. The first floor of our building, Cabaret, used to be a Latin nightclub so we’ve kept the sultry dark tones and funky chandeliers. Lastly, the Ballroom has floor to ceiling windows overlooking Baltimore City and our courtyards. The crystal chandeliers fill the space with warm light and couples love the old English bar for cocktail hour!
On-premise/Off-premise Catering: We deal directly with 14 caterers on our approved vendor list, two of which are Kosher. Should our wedding couples have a religious or dietary restriction that our caterers cannot outsource, we make exceptions for an additional fee.
How many events can be hosted at a time: Unless our wedding couples have opted for the Exclusive package, we can host two weddings a day since there are two entrances to our wedding venue. We stagger the parties so that guests are able to park and enter without interrupting the caterers setting up.
Do you have a get ready room: We allow wedding couples the option of renting one of our guest rooms to get ready should they need a space.
Complimentary or paid parking: Some wedding packages include valet or 18 parking spaces. Weekday weddings do not, but have the choice to add valet for an additional fee.
Are you available for micro weddings: Absolutely! We’ve been hosting elopements and micro weddings since the start of the pandemic and plan to continue these services until the restrictions are lifted. Weddings with very large numbers are simply not possible at this moment so we’re thrilled couples have opted for these smaller ceremonies. Our micro weddings allow for 50 guests while our elopements allow for 20 people total.
Do you offer military (or other) discount: We do have military discounts on our Inn rooms and on single level wedding rentals.
What would you consider your theme or style: Old school elegance meets simple luxury.
Brief description of the venue: The 1840s Carrollton Inn & Plaza is a historic wedding venue and small boutique bed and breakfast with 13 rooms. The Carrollton Inn is comprised of multiple row homes that have been merged but kept many original details like fireplaces and windows. We’ve been open for 19 years and have hosted countless weddings so far. The Carrollton Mansion located next door to our Inn was the inspiration behind all of our décor and room names. The Inn’s popularity stems from its beautifully romantic rooms and suites, all of which feature a whirlpool tub and a fireplace! Guests are treated to a gourmet full breakfast and parking is included when they stay with us. In addition to our Inn, we have a four story event venue and two outdoor courtyards. Our venue space, the 1840s Plaza opened in 2002 and has three very distinct spaces. We cater to wedding couples of all types and wedding parties of many numbers. Our property takes up almost 1 city block!
What makes you unique: The fact that our building is gorgeous and historic lends to a unique blend of luxury. Countless wedding couples choose to host their ceremony outdoors and then invite guests to an indoor floor. Since we’re in the heart of the city, many people are shocked that we offer valet and that we have gardens! Our courtyards have café lights strung above them for a magical effect for evening weddings.
Bonus question First look or Traditional: Our couples mainly choose first looks in the Carrollton Courtyard with just the wedding couple. The pictures are always so sweet!
