I think one of my favorite stories came true at The Beleveder in Baltimore, MD. It had been the place they met and the place they went back to on their first date. It had so many good memories for them over the years they were dating that it was only fitting to pop the question in The John Eager Howard Room at the Belvedere. It was to be a big surprise and had been planned carefully and strategically. But the best part of listening to their engagement story is that they were able to complete each other’s sentences. You see, Pat planned it all out, first asking her parents, then buying the ring at Kay Jewelers and then going to the Belvedere on the sly and asking for help from their favorite bartender. Seems they had a special table in a corder and Pat wanted to reserve it for a particular date and time, the bartender was only too pleased to help with the surprise. Pat decided she was was going pr to slip the ring on the side of the plate of Mary’s favorite piece of cake. The scene was set and Pat was so nervous she could hardly keep the surprise. That is when Mary took over the story. She was excited that Pat had made reservations for dinner and decided to put on a nice dress. They were escorted to their favorite table and had a wonderful dinner. But Mary was so hungry she really did not want dessert. Pat was so upset and ordered the chocolate cake anyway, which confused Mary as Pat did not really like chocolate cake. Lucky for Pat at this point Mary decided to go to the bathroom and while she was gone, Pat put the ring on the plate. When Mary returned, she saw something shining on the plate and thought it was a piece of glass and went to brush it off of the table. Until she realized it was a diamond. That is when Pat got down on one knee and popped the question. To which Mary said yes to which the crowd in the restaurant all started clapping. Which led to the stress of planning a wedding while being in grad school and working a full time job, which lead to hiring Top Shelf Wedding Planners to help! Mary and Pat have now scheduled their wedding at the Belvedere for 2022 and I am so excited to be a part of helping them plan for their wedding day!
